Lamp Butterfly, I mean Butify

So I started with this lamp in Izzy's room. The weird beading didn't really work for me.

As you can see I tried to pretty it up with some pom-poms left over from her birthday...

But it wasn't quite right, so I stuck about fifty butterflies from some scraps of patterned paper, folded the wings and hot glued them on.

Izzy loves it! (phew, because I took it without her noticing!)

And with the light on it looks pretty cool too.

Like a little swarm of butterflies have landed in her bedroom. Love it, and how easy it was!

Blissful and Domestic

Today I'd like to show you some of my favourite tutorials from Danielle at Blissful and Domestic.

Danielle is not just great with her sewing skills, but she also is an amazing re-puposer! She turned an old belt and one of her daughter's old skirts into this cute bag:

And she turned some old sweaters into some cute skirts for a little girl.

Oh and did I mention she can cook and bake?

Of course I was drawn to the chocolatey ones! But she also has lots of main courses too. Great for when your stuck in a cooking rut like me and just do the same  five meals on a rotation!

Danielle also hosts a Featured Friday Linky party which always has great crafty ideas.

So Go check out her blog! Especially her tutorials and recipes page, and the handmade in December event she's doing...I know, I'm pretty sure she mustn't sleep!

Enjoy your week!

Handmade in December

Forgot to mention, but I'm posting over at Blissful and Domestic for their Handmade in December series. Talking about the experiences advent.

Sorry it's been a little quiet on the blogging front, I have been very busy with making gifts, decorations and food - but I have family members who read this blog...So I'll have plenty to share when they've received their gifts and I have time to take some pretty pictures for you. The light here is terrible at the moment! But I've managed to cross a few things off my list which I can tell you about properly soon:

  • Reorganising the front entrance. (Including adding furniture and drilling!)
  • Wrapping and buying more gifts. (Here's where I'm getting all my inspiration!)
  • Making Christmas cards for Izzy's friends.
  • Making chocolatey gifts that keep, inspiration from hotel chocolat:
White & Caramel Cookies

(I'm far too cheap to pay what they're asking, even if the packaging is pretty!)

  • And of course putting up our tree and decorations!
Though I still, hopefully like most of you, have lots more to do!

And many more jars to save for free packaging :) Just me?

Still trying to think of the perfect service to do with the kids!

Hope you're enjoying the Christmas season.

Some Christmas Present Ideas

Just thought I'd share a couple of gifts I've made for Christmas, thinking that hopefully they'll be of some use if you're planning on making some yourself.

Neighbour gifts

Kids

Ladies

Men

Couples

A lot of these are things waiting to be wrapped up, and I still have a lot more to finish. I'm currently working on a real life version of Angry Birds for my brother...It's nearly done and I love it so much I don't want to give it away!

What have you been working on? I'd love you to share a link if you have one too! I still have a few more gifts to do!

Enjoy your week!
